The menu looks pretty pedestrian considering the prices.

The Kitchen Step occupies the space that was once 30 Acres. The decor is less stark than its predecessor and more welcoming. The menu seems intended to serve a variety of clientele, with snacks, small plates and large plates.

Oysters were fresh and served with a classic mignonette and the excellent cheeses were sourced from Van Hook on Jersey Ave. Buttermilk baked chicken breast was moist and tasty and the pomegranate chili glazed pork chop was a treat. I didn't try the Moroccan braised chicken, but it sure looked good.

The Kitchen Step has a well chosen wine list with a mix of new and old world, a list of fifteen cocktails and a good mix of beer.

I'm looking forward to going back.
