Restaurants & Bars / Re: White Mana Diner
« on: 11-06-2010, 01:39am »
As usual, I knew nothing of this food channel stuff, but my son and I did stop at The White Mana Thursday night for a couple of triple burgers with cheese and fried onions on our way out to the Roger Waters concert.
Awesome greasy burgers.

Thanks for the memories George !!!

He always was and always will be the "real" Boss....not that poser down in Rumson.   ;D

Seriously though, Steinbrenner was an icon on and off the field. The stories that are
coming out about his enormous charitable contributions says alot about who he really was.

Government & Politics / Re: Health Care Debate
« on: 01-18-2010, 09:18pm »
An interesting development...what will happen?  How will the 60th vote be purchased if an unwashed Republican sullies this progressive state? Will there be yet another state that doesn't have pay Medicaid?  More people that can keep their cadillac health care plans while everyone else pays fines?

Obama makes last-ditch attempt to save Senate seat

I don't know what the outcome will be but I predict that Ted Kennedy will cast a vote from the grave ... ;)

I'm gonna go there and scream really loud at the public option advocates, because I equate acting out with nuanced knowledge of complex issues.

Right...glad no lefties have ever done that.  :P

Calendar / Re: July 4 Fireworks Show Moves to Hudson River
« on: 07-05-2009, 10:13pm »
I was originally going to watch the fireworks "down the shore", but I decided to come back up to Jersey City. I arranged to get up on the roof (about 30 floors high) of the building right outside the Exchange Place Path Station ( where Rosie's used to be)... IT WAS AWESOME!!!... We saw the Jersey City fireworks at Liberty State Park, The Macy's, and every town as far as the eye could see up the Hudson, over Manhattan and Brooklyn, Long Island, Staten Island, and as far North, South , and West in New Jersey as we could see. The weather was perfect; around 65 degrees, breezey, NO HUMIDITY,  and crystal clear skies...for those that could only see one but not both, JC's was just as good as Macy's...different, but amazing...it lasted about the same amount of time as well..(JC started a little earlier and ended a little earlier)....glad I made the trip back North, lol.
SHIT !!! Almost forgot....2  peregrine falcons circled our position on the roof, did a nose dive right at us before pulling up and flying off....scarey awesome shit.

Music / Re: Michael 'Jacko' Jackson Dies at 50
« on: 06-30-2009, 09:09am »

If Michael was Mikey Jackson, the school janitor, who frequently displayed a propensity for bonkin' the youngins, his experience in the criminal justice system would likely be different.

Certainly.  But that doesn't automatically make Michael Jackson guilty.

All true. However, me thinks that 27 MILLION $$$ to make something that never happened go away could have been accomplished for a lot less if there was nothing to it...allegedly speaking of course.   ;D

Saturday...Mets 6  Yankees 2
I sat in the rain for this game, and even though the Yanks lost
we still had a great time. A couple of Mets fans near us got das boot, which was fun to watch. ;D Nieve shut down the Yanks and Petite sucked. Game over. However, it was worth the price of the tickets (free in our case  ;D ) to take part in giving Castillo a standing ovation as the first batter in the game.  ;D

Ben Peachy's Amish market is back at Harborside on Wednesdays. I bought
some banana bread and cherry pie from him last week that was off the charts.
