Well, if it's just me and AB then we'll get a zipcar, the public transport options are really shit to get down there, but if someone wants to drive us... ;)

If you go on their website you can look directly at what seats are available. There still seems to be lots of options, but Wambach attracts a crowd.

I was thinking of heading down to Piscataway this Thursday to watch some NWSL and see Sky Blue play the Western NY Flash. It'll be the last home game of the year and tickets are $15, game is at 7:00.

Anyone interested in coming with?

A great chance to see some world class players before the WWC next year. Caitlin Foord, CoCo Goodson, Jill Loyden, Sophie Schmidt, Kelly O'Hara, Nadia Nadim, Christine Rampone -- and that's just the Sky Blue side! Western NY is the great Abby Wambach's team along with Carli Lloyd and Adrianna Franch.

Hi - are the tickets still available?

They in fact, are. PM me if you're interested. Thanks!

There's also going to be fireworks on the field after the game, which is always a great show.

I've got two tickets for the RedBulls game this Saturday the 19th that I can't use and wanted to offer them up for sale. Game is at 7pm. Great seats, row 2, sec 128. Offering them for face value of $50 each.

They're playing San Jose with the returning USMNT player Chris Wondolowski.

They busting unions with the ice cream factory workers too?

Does this explain at all why they didn't bother to just add an elevator when they redid the entrance? And had to be sued into it? They must've known in 2005 that they'd have to comply with ADA.

Crime & Safety / Re: Officer involved shooting
« on: 06-26-2014, 06:31pm »
I read this yesterday and thought it was just another sad incident but soon something started to bother me:

Shot in an unlocked shed in a backyard?  Why didn't the cops wait for back-up?  Why enter the shed at all if the suspect was contained?  Only one officer entered even though there was apparently another officer following in a car?

Also, it's the same squad that was involved in the Reed Street shooting that ended in the death of two suspects and Police Officer Marc DiNardo.

Sorry but this shooting, or at least the procedures that led to it, sound very iffy.

Gotta wonder if Cowan being demoted has anything to do with this.

A Portuguese bar might not be the best place to watch the game on Sunday...

So, where are folks getting together to watch the USA/Ghana game tonight?

Check out the rendering… look at all the dead zone created by the parking deck.  Horrible urban design.  Vertical suburbia.  Absolute shite.

The parking deck is already there. You can see it behind them in the ground breaking photo. And yeah, it looks stupid, but most of the double buildings have them as a way to have some sort of outdoor space and a pool. 77 Hudson/70 Greene, Gulls Cove, Grove Pointe, etc.

Holy shit. This is actually kind of a really big "get" for Loew's.

"Hey, did you hear that?  Haw, haw.  The little kid says he saw a Hairy Pecker!  Haw haw haw.

To be fair, that is pretty damn funny.

Hairy Pecker.

Don't want to be a total jerk....but... do we think any of this might have to do with the fact that his "day job" burned down last month?

FYI, the Central Ave. fire took down a building that was owned by Yun but didn't house Garden State News. It was a produce store.

Fair enough.

Shouldn't this be called 7 Reasons to Take the Ferry to Jersey City?  :P

“Just mind your business,” the sophomore said. “That’s what you gotta do. Just mind your business and no one will bother you.”

Yeah, just sounds like regular high school to me.

Yeah, I gotta agree with Soshin. Things like this happened in my suburban high school all the time (granted this being said with not being able to watch the video because it was removed). Desk went through a window once, teacher got their hand broken trying to brake up a fight, substitute teacher running out of classrooms after being pelted with nickels, the fires we would light off campus during lunch, etc...

Now the fact that there are cops and security guards on site and they did nothing, well that's I think the bigger issue. What are FE's tax dollars being used for if not to stop hooligans like this?

Wait till the process is over then bitch. :pint:

:| You mean when the city has inked a 30-year deal with Live Nation? Yeah, no, I will reserve my right to bitch now, thanks. :D

If you are on the board, WTF has been going on? Why hasn't FOL been more transparent? Where isn't there a public declaration of who is on the board? The information on the website is pretty impenetrable. Does the board have any governing power over Colin and Pattie? Who approved their salaries?

I am all for new management. I want the Loews to have sprinklers and air conditioning, and doing 200+ events a year. And I want to see it pay for itself. However, I don't want it to be just another box on the balance sheet of MSG or Live Nation, I would rather it stay shuttered for a better day than have that.

The only problem is that they're the only group left that does that sort of promotion and type of facility management. What other company would you suggest for running the place? I agree Live Nation and TM are a bunch of monopolistic bastards, but they won and are the only game in town the country. This argument would've worked better before they took over and there was another option.

( Not all of us walk the streets professionally.  ;D )

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not (sigh, the internets) but, there are signs and banners all over downtown.

Alexander Semeniv, 47, of Jersey City, carried a sign that read "Stop Putin's Fascism in Ukraine, Don't Buy Lukoil." Vladimir Putin is Russia's president.

Oh is that who he is? Thanks JJ! :P

Did you know that Jersey City must examine every bone that's reported, no matter the size, to ensure they aren't human remains?

How are we all just ignoring this detail?! Lets go plant some bones!
