Government & Politics / Re: Lipski's Golden Shower
« on: 11-11-2008, 02:44am »
These past few days have been some of the hardest in my life. I never want to relive them, so I am asking you to help keep me honest and sober. By sharing with you publicly that I am an alcoholic, I will no longer have to hide in the shadow of my disease but I can begin to be liberated. That is the most important reason why I felt I needed to be forthright with you.

Why is everyone a victim?  Can't he just grow a spine, say he fucked up, and resign like a man?

duke

I ask myself that question a lot... "oh, so I'm supposed to feel sorry for him now too." I think this whole victim/making excuses culture started with talk shows. Seriously, like Donahue, Oprah, Sally Jesse... people would sit there and tell their secrets. It was sort of the beginning of reality tv. Anyhow, everything was given a label (obesessive compulsive, abused, alcoholic, etc.) and people were supposed to be getting well this way and sharing their stories to help others. In some ways, I think it just made everyone start labeling themselves as such and such... I'm a control freak, I have ADD, etc.  I don't really know where I'm going with this.

All I know, is I've been wasted before many times and never peed on anyone besides myself.

BRAVO!!!! :) +100000 Kitten, although, I kind of like to be peed on :(
it makes me feel loved.........LOL ;) Seriously though when I act like an asshole it's NOT because of alcohol it's because I AM AN ASSHOLE, NOT because beer or shots made me do it. Ummmm nevermind......  >:D >:D

Movies & Television / Re: Scariest Movies EVER!
« on: 11-04-2008, 09:33pm »
What a fantastic thread. Sorry I am so late to it  :-\  I absolutely LOVE horror/scary movies, anyone who has been in my apartment knows I collect scary movie action figures and memorabilia. I can go on and on here since I am so passionate about this but will try and keep it short.  ;)

it's not often things scare me, so my list might be a little retarded, I find a lot of horror movies these days going for shock value which make my stoned ass crack up.

1. Nightmare on Elm Street - the first one
2. Hellraiser - I STILL have not seen this movie all the way through I hate those creepy fuckers
3. Blair Witch Project - I lived alone in a creepy ass house in the woods when this came out, I can understand why people hated it so much, but it scared the shit out of me.
4. When a Stranger Calls - The original, Holy Crapmypants
5. Twin Peaks Fire Walk with Me - I will NEVER get the vision of "Bob" in the corner of Laura Palmers room out of my head
6. A Tale of 2 Sisters - A Korean classic
7. The Strangers - It's new with Liv Tyler and some douche from Felicity but I haven't been that scared watching it alone in years.

Ok Done with the nerd lesson. lol lol Sorry for the long post.

And apparently he was a school teacher before his rise to fame and his long-term girlfriend either in graphic arts or production I think.

He is dating Jennifer Westfeldt, she Co-Wrote and starred in Kissing Jessica Stein and is currently in Notes from the Underbelly.

It was funny around 2 weeks ago when Mike Woods mentioned that he had a hurricane party at his house over the weekend and Applegate and Ines were like "wait, we weren't invited" and Greg Kelly seized the moment and said something like "I was and it was great." and they all got the inside joke but not sure all the viewers did.

I use to see Mike Woods broadcasting the weather from Grove Street Path a few years ago, All the ladies would swarm him and fawn over him, I'm pretty sure a few panties may have been tossed at him as well. Go Figure.  ;D lol

Dining / Re: Hudson Restaurant Week
« on: 08-01-2008, 12:55am »
I agree about the deviled eggs, AMAZING, and it's a deviled egg!!! LOL... so good. Hpd and I went here a few weeks ago and sat at the bar, The sliders ehhh for me (but I like chef boyardee and frozen food) The boquerones or something like that, lol "white sardines" Were FANTASTIC. The garlic meatballs were ok, the deviled egg well you know triple thumbs up lol. We had good service and a good time, and we spent like $40. Can't wait to try the dinner there.

This was extremely yummy.  Ox remains my favorite restaurant in downtown JC.  The wait was a bit long, but they gave us some free nibbles to make up for it (deviled eggs and olives).  The ox tail appy remains my absolute favorite.  The steak was delish, as was the tart.  So far I think this is the best restaurant week deal in town.

To be precise, I got an egg white, spinach, tomato, swiss omlette.........Can I just say BEST EVER!!! I have NEVER had an omlette cooked so perfectly. The music doesn't bother me at all, and the TV's ehhhh, I am too busy looking at HPD to give a crap what else is going on :) :) :)

Hippy and I went for brunch there again yesterday, the service is very good - attentive  and friendly,  the food is pretty good.   I had a lemon pepper chicken sandwich that was excellent and Hippy got an egg white omelette that looked delish.   I don't mind the tvs and I kind of like the cheesy 90's music, the outdoor seating is a big plus in the summer time but not the only reason we go there.  I actually kind of like the place, at least during the day.

I like this place, they make really good fresh sandwiches. I am talking about simple ham/turkey/cheese sandwiches, I don't know about the side salads or panini's. The reason I like this place is because they don't overload your sandwich with 4 lbs of meat or tuna which makes me crazy.....there are starving children in 3rd world countries eating 3rd world ketchup sandwiches.....   >:D

Seriously though, HPD and I really enjoy this place. Highly Recommended. Enjoy!!!  :)

My family lives in South Jersey (Tuckerton/Little Egg Harbor exit 58 off the parkway south), My Grandmother has lived there all my life and my parents moved there 6 years ago. In all my interactions with the locals for the past 33 years they are a bunch of racist, slow, homophobe back woods dickheads. But hey that is my experience, so it's probably me and my malice causing face. :) I sometimes think IQ's start to drop as the parkway numbers do, but I am a stoner so it could just be my IQ dropping.
Anyway, have any of you ever visited a WAWA??? BEST shit ever!!!!

uhhh you're going to Montreal? Good Luck Eeeh!! Kidding!!!! Happy Anniversary and have a great weekend, unfortunately I know nothing abooot Canada aside from Alanis, Kevin Smith movies and Degassi Jr High. :(

We're heading up north for the long weekend. Any suggestions for a) nice anniversary dinner b) casual lunch and c) bar/lounge for dinner & possibly dancing? We've been there before but always ended up in the touristy spots since we don't know any locals there.

TIA!

This comment is bothering me

"The generic BBQ sauce that came in the red squeeze bottle tasted like third world, sweetened ketchup"

Have you had/tasted third world sweetened kethcup? Is it as tasty as you?

We went last night because I was too lazy to cook. Our lowdown:

FOOD: Mr. Indahouse had the special appetizer platter for dinner, we shared the feta and roasted pepper salad, and I had the (half) chicken and ribs combo. The platter was not delectable and just average. The salad came undressed and when I asked for oil & vinegar, I am fairly sure it was canola or vegetable but surely not olive oil. The chicken & ribs felt like they were re-heated: chicken was dry and ribs were not falling off the bone as I had hoped. It was big, I'll give them that. The generic BBQ sauce that came in the red squeeze bottle tasted like third world, sweetened ketchup. Bottom Line: Uncared for and unspectacular.

ATMOSPHERE: Two words: Smokers' Paradise! People were puffing away both indoors and outdoors like they were facing a firing squad! The inside is weird with its bifurcated space: dark bar area, weird pool table/kitchen addition. Interesting mix of people the night we were there- late 20 something guys and girls drinking and flirting loudly, young local guys hanging out (both groups were drinking Jagermeister!),  a couple on a first date, a few older people at the bar.

Might be interesting if you are nearby as a local beer joint, but not that impressed with the food. And no Smithwick's on tap. My question is: who drinks Bud in a bar?

LOL NO, these are NOT Mary Jane bags. These are either coke, heroin or crack bags. DEF NOT pot. Pot Heads are WAY too lazy to clean out the entire bag :) and WAY too cheap to throw the bag on the ground. Trust!!!! :)

really? I am going to seriously answer your question, ok. They are for drugs. Most likely marijuana.
