OH SNAP!

Short answer, bobble, is no, not exactly. unless you consider people who spend waaaay too much time communicating online with people they mostly know in person already anyway to be "cool".

admittedly, the group here for the most part knows each other, so there is definitely a familiar feel here at wiredJC. we're all of 4 days old, so we've only had the opportunity to spread the word to people we know, mostly from JCList. a broader "launch" will come soon.

Thanks for signing up, and please, don't be a stranger.

Like some others - I was a little suspicious of two lists...i'm still not sure i'll be able to keep up with both, i barely keep up with one, and do so poorly.  BUT, all that being said, i really like this list (the little i've seen) and once i tried out a few of the different options and figured out the settings that i like best, it's been really great.
Really, this is a long rambling version of:

Thanks Non!

Maybe you guys should come up with a prize for the loser with the most posts posted in the first month. Or not.

I wouldn't know where to put all the stuff.   :-\

This is great.  I love the color scheme.  It looks like my living room.  But I am slow. A little retarded even, so it will take me a while to get used to using the new layout.  I will probably be going back and forth between here and jclist, but it's nice to have a site that wants to address all of jc. and not just downtown.
Congrats!  Maybe you guys should come up with a prize for the loser with the most posts posted in the first month. Or not.

so long as the banner atop jclist continues to read Downtown Jersey City List, it still delivers a pretty strong message to 'outsiders' that it's more of a place for ward E residents than it is for the rest of the city. that's just my perspective as somebody who lives on the west side, and has watched the whole evolution of JC happen first-hand over the last 30 years.

while discussion of NONdowntown Jersey City neighborhoods may no longer be verboten, i still wouldn't say it's encouraged. (Note the only neighborhoods given its own board there is 'Newport', and it's in the "downtown jersey city neighborhoods" section of the Forums).

As a fellow non-downtowner I would agree with this take.  I do really like JC list, but feel like i live too far outside of downtown (especially after I located the map on the list that defines "downtown JC"), to post comfortably on some topics.  This list seems a bit more inclusive, at least as far as the geography definition of JC is concerned...

Ermm....for the scant handful who may be interested, most of my current stuff is posted in the review section at www.bagatellen.com. The recent write-up of John Tilbury's readings of two Beckett radio plays (Cascando and Rough for Radio 1) generated some acrimonious back and forth on who should be reviewing what.

Other musings on the inevitable blog (Just Outside) at www.olewnick.blogspot.com.

self-promo over with....

And yeah, Dale, where are you?

PS. I do respectfully ask that Fast Eddie confine his really, really funniest posts to this board so I don't have to flit back and forth for fear I might miss something. Thank you.

OK, so how long before the power surging through NON's veins becomes so intoxicating that the insurgent becomes the Prince? I've seen it happen before. It doesn't take long before the hookahs are replaced with semiautomatic wielding trucklers. I'll play along but I know how it's going to end.

Nice color scheme though.

love you too! nobody's going to beg you to be here. but you're welcome anytime.

not looking to be begged, so shut the pie hole. just looking to see if commiting to a whole new set of parameters is something i can digest. i can hardly figure this thing out and keep looking in the wrong place for theright stuff. old habits.....

plus you designed for a bigger resolution than jclist is, so that necessitates horiz and vertical scrolling. you're gonna give me carpal tunnel.

anyway, i will watch and learn.

i'm not so sure about all this. if there was anyone who hated the webmaster and was pulled and prodded by his ongoing removal of my posts, signatures and avatars, it was me. and if there was anyone bored by the same old topics (of which i was part of the mix) it was me. But this is sorta like moving to the burbs and missing the old bastard neighbors you once had. If there's no-one to bitch about, what's an misanthrope like me to do?

Besides, I'm not all that fond of Missa and NON anyway. You guys suck too.
And I'm a lazy bastard. Posting on JClist was 2nd nature. This is like learning to have sex all over again. Maybe I'm too old for both.

So we shall see. i wil sit back and observe for a few weeks. Rabbits don't dig options.

love you too! nobody's going to beg you to be here. but you're welcome anytime.
