Maybe you'd have gotten more responses if you'd typoed the subject as, "Double-hung widower repair".

would not be surprised if that's a title in a craigslist personal.

Jeez, I feel like my window is made of laminate flooring.  Oh well, I found a handyman AtS.

Double-hung window repair

I'm looking for advice on getting a double-hung window out of its frame.  The window has a wood frame and has spring-loaded balances, but it doesn't seem to have those levers that allow the window to tilt in.  I have looked all over for some way to pop the window out, and I'm stumped.  Help!  I'm on the verge of removing all the trim and unscrewing the spring-loaded balances.  That will be a mess.

Alternatively, can anyone recommend a handyman who is good with windows?  If I do take the window apart, I'm going to need help putting it back together again.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
