looks like cattle might be on it's way to eating more off this list.

I "scored" a 79, with the following exceptions:

  5. Crocodile - the old world version of alligator, of which I've eaten plenty
30. Bagna cauda - Might serve this at a Babylon 5 nerd party when we watch "Distant Star" epi
33. Salted lassi - Newark Ave milkshake.  I'm more of a clear bevvy fella
46. Fugu - oh - I thought this was fufu.  I pass on eating known poisons
52. Umeboshi - like my fruit fresh, please
53. Abalone - I try not to eat endangered animals
59. Poutine - never (yet) been drunk in a diner in Quebec, 4 AM
63. Kaolin - if they mean Kaopectate - see # 59
64. Currywurst - why ruin a good wurst?
65. Durian - available on Lower Newark - but how to carry home in a backpack (ouch!)? Dessert with 30.
66. Frogs’ legs - Grew up reading the National Lampoon
68. Haggis - see 59, substitute Glasgow
73. Louche absinthe - been waiting for the real stuff (jcpeace, howzaboutit?)
74. Gjetost, or brunost - caramel goat cheese?  Hmmmmm
75. Roadkill - see 46, 53.
76. Baijiu - I predict this will be the hot new Post-Olympic cocktail, for 14 year old gymnasts & divers
78. Snail - from a tin or from a shell?  This makes a meal?
83. Pocky - you mean chocolate covered pretzels? An insult to the chocolate And the pretzel
84. Tasting menu at a three-Michelin-star restaurant - Only if Chef Bibendum is in the kitchen
85. Kobe beef - Animals incl. human fed beer and massaged shouldn't end up as food
89. Horse - entree at the racing camp my bud attended in Castelcucco, before they went upscale.  See 85

76/100.

Random comments/questions:
  • There is a dearth of pork products.
  • Where can one get a cup of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee in JC?
  • More serves a good soft-shell crab.
  • There are numerous Indian dishes because the list compilers are British.
  • Fugu reminds me of that Simpsons episode.
  • Currywurst sounds :barf:

au contraire, currywurst is actually fantastic. look for it at Lederhosen on Grove Street in the West Village. :yum:

I've eaten all except 68 & 74, I can't believe I almost ate the whole list!

Trust me, you are not missing anything with #68.

You've eaten roadkill???

AmbushBug and I had a science teacher in highschool who would bring in various roadkill type meals and things. That's how I've eaten it. He always said it was racoon...I'm not sure if I ever believed him.

Do I get bonus points for combining roadkill and venison?  Does White Castle count as horse?

Do you lose a point if you die by getting eaten by something on the list?

no, yes, no.

sorry i forgot to edit out the notes someone made in the hundred.

i only got a 57 :/

there is also a vegan's hundred too, if anyone is interested in that.
also some exotic foods on there...
