Thanks anything you need just let me know, I'll pick it all up ahead of time and have it all ready to go by the time you get here, or deliver it =)
This is a really fire-prone kind of city.
Unfortunately, Floyd's store and inventory were completely soaked and the whole building needs to be rewired. Thankfully no one was hurt. I hope he'll be back in business soon enough.
Glad to hear no one was hurt and that Floyd is apparently going right back to business. Winds blamed for sparking Jersey City fireby Reena Rose Sibayan/The Jersey Journal Saturday October 25, 2008, 8:20 PMToday's gusty winds are being blamed for setting a fire on York Street in Downtown Jersey City just before 5 this afternoon by pushing tree limbs into electrical lines that sent sparks into the second floor of a building."I was outside making a phone call when I saw the wind blow over the tree and hit the electric lines straight into the building. That's pretty much when I called 911," Floyd Bennett, owner of FJB Comic Books and Video Games on the first floor of the affected building. He said that he went back inside the store right away to get two customers out.A firefighter was "shocked but it was minor, he is back on duty," Deputy Fire Chief Tim Kearny said.He said the apartment on the second floor was empty at the time of the fire.According to Bennett, the landlord lives upstairs but he had left "about two hours ago. I had called to make sure he wasn't still up there but he had left already."Bennett said that he will probably be open tomorrow adding, "It's just a little water damage."
