Jersey City-based masking tape fine artist Kayt Hester will be presenting her first New York City solo at Manhattan gallery lounge Lolita.

“Our Tactile Holiday” is the study of the perfect day off, illustrated with hand torn masking tape that tells a story of leisure and contentment. Hester will be debuting new large scale artwork in black and white, with the occasional shock of vibrant color. From serine to the slightly surreal, Hester work evokes the satisfaction and comfort of having no place to be.

Hester has previously shown at a number of solo and group exhibitions throughout New Jersey including the Jersey City Museum, the luxury residences at the Waldo Lofts and Canco Lofts, and Mana Contemporary. Hester has also completed to-spec window installations across the country with Victorinox Swiss Army.

“Our Tactile Holiday” will debut on Thursday, May 9, 2013 starting at 7pm at Lolita, located at 266 Broome Street in New York, New York.
