I went on to the site today and followed the link to Ticketmaster to buy a ticket to the Saturday show and it said "we currently do not have any tickets on-sale for All Points West." 

My friend just got his ticket for Saturday last week. Could they actually have sold out in the past week? Good for them if so but I guess I'm SOL.

Good question. Probably not but that rule was pretty easy to get around last year.

Beer will be available to all patrons of legal age for purchase at the festival. Please bring one or two government ID's showing proof of age over 21 if you plan to purchase beer. There will be a seven drink per person per day limit. Alcohol will be served in larger beer gardens with shorter lines, and will feature stage views, shade tents, and food sales.

Seven drinks per DAY?  Surely they mean HOUR?  Right?  Right?

Oh well, I guess I will just have to make sure we all stick to pills and weed.

I have heard the Gaslight Anthem on WRKP.  I liked what I heard.

I read an interview with The Gaslight Anthem in the UK music mag UNCUT this month where they described themselves as the "updated Jersey Shore sound".  I took this to mean some kind of Southside Johnny/Springsteen reference and not to mean the sound of Staten Island guidos lighting their farts in Belmar.

Pretty impressive lineup. I think Saturday is a no-brainer for me, though I would love to see Echo & the Bunnymen, Elbow and Mogwai on Sunday.

Glad to see they're bringing the festival back. Now if only they didn't cage beer drinkers up like farm animals, this could be "world-class."

Tickets for ALL POINTS WEST go on sale Friday, April 3 at 12 Noon (ET) via http://www.ticketmaster.com only. Single day tix are $89 and three day passes are $199 for a limited time. The same layaway plan that Goldenvoice successfully implemented with a variety of their festivals this year will also be available for APW. Festival-goers now have the option to purchase 3-day festival tickets and 3-day parking passes on a payment plan. So...Matt Pinfield on WRKP announced this morning that the lineup for 2009 will be announced on Monday morning.  He was really hyping it up, saying it was going to be amazing.  It will be interesting to see if it lives up to his hype.

Festivals Returning Despite Struggling Economy

The international music festival market took a hit last week with the cancellation of the Langerado Music Festival in Miami and the Hydro Connect Festival in Scotland, but other large-scale fests are returning for a second year despite a struggling economy.

U.S. festival producers Madison House Presents and AEG Live have just announced that the Rothbury Festival will return for its second year at Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Mich. The event will take place July 2-5, with artist and ticket information to be announced soon.

Other AEG Live-promoted festivals returning for their second year include All Points West Music & Arts Festival across the Hudson River from Manhattan and Mile High Music Festival in Denver, AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips tells Billboard. The lineups for those festivals have not yet been announced.

Last year's four-day Rothbury Festival featured sets from Phil Lesh, Snoop Dogg, Widespread Panic, Dave Matthews Band and dozens more. The event ranked No. 8 on Billboard's 2008 top-grossing festivals tally, pulling in $7.4 million and drawing 120,820 music fans, according to Billboard Boxscore.
