A:  They will release a bunch more tickets before the day, just keep checking.
B:  You will find plenty on Craigslist, probably for fce value minus ticketbastard fees

I went on to the site today and followed the link to Ticketmaster to buy a ticket to the Saturday show and it said "we currently do not have any tickets on-sale for All Points West."  :o

My friend just got his ticket for Saturday last week. Could they actually have sold out in the past week? Good for them if so but I guess I'm SOL.

"We've been working hard since last year to bring you a fantastic lineup, larger beer gardens with views of the stages and additional transit options. How do FREE rides on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail line throughout the weekend with your ALL POINTS WEST tickets sound? We will keep you updated on all things ALL POINTS WEST throughout the next couple of months but remember you can always go to APWFESTIVAL.COM for information."

Does larger beer gardens mean you can have more than 5 beers tho?

Good question. Probably not but that rule was pretty easy to get around last year.

From the FAQ:

14. Will there be alcohol sold at the festival?
Beer will be available to all patrons of legal age for purchase at the festival. Please bring one or two government ID's showing proof of age over 21 if you plan to purchase beer. There will be a seven drink per person per day limit. Alcohol will be served in larger beer gardens with shorter lines, and will feature stage views, shade tents, and food sales.

Seven drinks per DAY?  Surely they mean HOUR?  Right?  Right?

Oh well, I guess I will just have to make sure we all stick to pills and weed.  ::)

pitch in for supplies and i will make some delicious baked goods.  sugar high ;D

Is it just me or did Gaslight Anthem completely rip off their name from the East Brunswick band Streetlight Manifesto?

C'mon guys, you're almost in the same ZIP code.
A particularly Jersey malaise—the inextinguishable longing for elsewheres.

I read an interview with The Gaslight Anthem in the UK music mag UNCUT this month where they described themselves as the "updated Jersey Shore sound".  I took this to mean some kind of Southside Johnny/Springsteen reference and not to mean the sound of Staten Island guidos lighting their farts in Belmar.

Wow. There isn't a single NJ band on that list. For shame.

And they're not bands but Janeane Garofalo and Michael Showalter are New Jerseyans.

Not quite, TF. From NJ.com's lineup announcement:

"Even local Jersey bands like Gaslight Anthem from New Brunswick and Steel Train from Teaneck have made the bill."

Maybe I am too old, or just too out of it.... But, I only recognize two or three bands listed.....
Darna: could someone please splain to me why a person in a gang is called a gangbanger but a gangbang has nothing to do with gang activity?

shahaggy: can't believe I'm saying this but +1 jehu

[02:58 PM] MCA: it's not stalking, it's caring enough to find out things she won't tell you herself

[01:35 PM] shahaggy: fine but jehu's correct

TheFang: as much as it pains me to say, jehu might be right.

One time, I hired a monkey to take notes for me in class. I would just sit back with my mind completely blank while the monkey scribbled on little pieces of paper. At the end of the week, the teacher said, "Class, I want you to write a paper using your notes." So I wrote a paper that said, "Hello! My name is Bingo! I like to climb on things! Can I have a banana? Eek, eek!"

Pretty impressive lineup. I think Saturday is a no-brainer for me, though I would love to see Echo & the Bunnymen, Elbow and Mogwai on Sunday.

Glad to see they're bringing the festival back. Now if only they didn't cage beer drinkers up like farm animals, this could be "world-class."

Some obviously HUGE coups there.  But what a strangely structured bill.  Tool is headlining over My Bloody Valentine?  WTF?

So...Matt Pinfield on WRKP announced this morning that the lineup for 2009 will be announced on Monday morning.  He was really hyping it up, saying it was going to be amazing.  It will be interesting to see if it lives up to his hype.

Pfft... that guy is all hype. Is there anything that he isn't excited about? Can't trust those Highland Parkers for nothing.

Festivals Returning Despite Struggling Economy
February 09, 2009 05:31 PM ET

The international music festival market took a hit last week with the cancellation of the Langerado Music Festival in Miami and the Hydro Connect Festival in Scotland, but other large-scale fests are returning for a second year despite a struggling economy.

U.S. festival producers Madison House Presents and AEG Live have just announced that the Rothbury Festival will return for its second year at Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Mich. The event will take place July 2-5, with artist and ticket information to be announced soon.

Other AEG Live-promoted festivals returning for their second year include All Points West Music & Arts Festival across the Hudson River from Manhattan and Mile High Music Festival in Denver, AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips tells Billboard. The lineups for those festivals have not yet been announced.

Last year's four-day Rothbury Festival featured sets from Phil Lesh, Snoop Dogg, Widespread Panic, Dave Matthews Band and dozens more. The event ranked No. 8 on Billboard's 2008 top-grossing festivals tally, pulling in $7.4 million and drawing 120,820 music fans, according to Billboard Boxscore.
