For a quickie cafe con leche, I recommend:

Bialetti Moka Express (surprisingly, these are sold at Tarzhay)

Fresh roasted beans (and ground at home) from Legal Grounds

Sharper Image milk frother

Perfect cup everytime!

how dare you, mr. law. i *clearly* exhibited the qualities that exemplify the title "Bitter Diner" ages ago, AtS, when grousing about the $0.50 butter surcharge at Beechwood (which i have yet to let go).

AmbushBug, you may in fact, be the inaugral recipient of the honorific, "Bitter Diner."

;D

I too have top put my vote in for La Conguita, even if their suckassed service means I'll probably never be going back there.

In Jersey City, I have only had Cafe Con Leche at La Conguita and I thought it was excellent.

As a side note, I have enjoyed the espresso at Marco & Pepe very much.

Who has the best café con leche in Jersey City? We've had good experiences at La Conguita on Grove, Yuly's Place on Coles and a certain bodega (I forget the name) on West Side Ave. just south of Duncan. Where does everyone else get their Spanish coffee fix?

I love Neida's Bakery on Bergan Ave near Montgomery.  She also makes a pretty good hot chocolate because she froths the milk on that too.
