Celebrating Chinese New Year Over The Next Two Weeks? Hudson Restaurant Week Is There For You!

Today not only marks the beginning of the year of the Dragon on the Chinese Lunar Calendar, it's also the beginning of Hudson Restaurant Week! Held twice a year during the slowest periods for the restaurant industry, Hudson Restaurant Week participating establishments offer prix-fixe meals for both lunch and dinner over the next two weeks!

Now's the time to try out that new bistro or patronize an old favorite. And don't forget to Tweet From Your Seat! You just might have your dinner paid for you!

While Hudson Restaurant Week includes restaurants from all of Hudson County, don't forget, the BEST restaurants are in Jersey City and we do have a whole new expanded Restaurant Row..hint...hint!

Read list of participating restaurants here.

Hudson Resturant Week 2012 Set To Run 1/23 - 2/3!
If the last few days are any indication, it’s shaping up to be a cold winter! What to do? Start deciding which of Jersey City’s many fine restaurants you’ll patronize during this winter’s Hudson Restaurant Week, which begins Monday, January 23rd and runs through Friday, February 3rd, 2012!

Two weeks straight of no cooking, hanging out with friends, helping support the local economy, and being frugal as well – nothing else can help you build up so much good karma!

Check out the list of restaurants here!

Today is the last day but the RW deal at the Light Horse is a steal. We went for dinner the other night. It's $25, normal size portions (large) and most of their normal menu is on the RW menu.

http://www.hudsonrestaurantweek.com/restaurants/lighthorse-tavern.html

Lunch is $18.

We went their last night for dinner.  It was a great meal and the portions were huge.  The mussels were amazing.  I had only been there for lunch before and was underwhelmed with my burger so I was pleasantly surprised.  We'll definitely be back for dinner again.

Wow, I go out of town for a bit and Ox closes. . . .

Mrs. Bobblehead went to the Embankment on Wine Wednesday. She and her friend ate well and got blitzed for under $30 a head. Good times.

Hey, did you see the Jersey Journal article about the shootings on Wayne Street?

:nana: YEAH! :nana:  I love Hudson Restaurant Week! :nana:

I wonder if Porto Leggero is going to pull the same douchbaggery that they did last year.  I guess I won't ever know as I don't ever intent to patronize their establishment again.

I am beginning to LOVE this thing called Restaurant Week!

However, that said, *spits* we ain't going back there either. I won't be hoodwinked twice!

Had another great dinner at Ox last night.

Went there for the first time last night and had an excellent meal. The pork ribs, oxtail, steak, and nutella tart were all delicious, though  ribs cooked any way other than smoked with a Memphis style dry rub seem wrong :)

Only complaint: too many hard surfaces--acoustical treatments in the dining room would be a welcome touch.  After leaving, Newark Ave was blissfully (and ironically) quiet by comparison.
