Jersey City Jury Duty

Whatever you do, don't bring any cameras if your carry a purse or some kind of bag.  I always carry a mini dv/camera in my purse (everyday), went sailing thru the checkpoint/X-ray machine in the morning.  After lunch, the officer wanted to know what "electronics" I had.  netbook, cell phone (with a camera in it!) and mini dv.  I was told I couldn't bring a camera into the courthouse, to maybe leave it across the street at the camera shop.  I don't know those folks in the camera shop!

Naturally, not wanting to be disrespectful, I didn't point out that practically everyone in the building had a cell phone WITH A CAMERA IN IT.

I ditched said camera several blocks away with a co-worker.  What a pain in the tush.

Summer's a slow time, so they probably won't need many jurors.  Good chance you will never go back after the first day.  Last time, I sat on a case and we were done after two days.  They have Wi-Fi in the waiting room!

My civic duty calls.

When I last had jury duty, it was in Connecticut about ten years ago. Since I wasn't seated on a case, I was excused after the second day. Mostly I am wondering what kind of time commitment other folks have experienced.

Any helpful tips (besides lunch options which I just reviewed) would be much appreciated!
