I never got anything framed there, but when I came into possession of a 4'x5' printed map with uneven white borders I brought it in, thinking maybe they had the tools and skills to trim it properly for me. The guy did it in thirty seconds and tried to refuse payment... I made him take some money anyway.

I just wanted to write a quick review of Big Drum Art & Framing...

I stumbled, err googled, upon this place when I was looking for framing options in Jersey City. After speaking to a few shops, I decided to go with Big Drum for their options, pricing, and turn-around time (I needed something framed in time for my wedding). Anyhow, the shop owners are a husband and wife duo. They have a large space with pre-framed art and a studio in which they frame everything. Also, they are convenient to my office in Exchange Place! Did I mention they rescue feral cats in JC?

When I walked by at 8 in the morning to peek in the windows, the shop was to my surprise, open...and they waved me in. They said anytime the light is on - which is probably when they are doing work - the shop is open! The wife was very helpful and I picked out my frame and matting in no time and was on my way. The print was ready for me two days before promised and the finished product is beautiful.

Best part? I got home yesterday and there was a card from Big Drum thanking me for my business and wishing me well with my wedding. Totally made my day! I will definitely be going back when I need pictures framed, and highly recommend this above-and-beyond gem to all JC'ers.
