Does anyone know who to contact as far as the lighting at the Dog Park? Since it gets dark at about 4:30pm now the only issue I have with the new Dog Park is that there isn't enough lighting. I've stayed until closing several times already and it's not really a safety thing b/c the sheriff patrols the area pretty often-Just a fraidy cat . Thanks for any info. anyone can offer.

Maybe contact councilwoman Mary Spinello?  I know that Charlene Burke was also very involved in this, maybe she would be a good person to get in touch with as well.

I have to dog sit my parents' pooch in a few weeks. Where exactly is this dog run located within Lincoln Park? Thanks.

It's in the western part of the park, across Route 1-9 from the main part. To get there, enter Lincoln Park on Duncan Avenue just east of 1-9, hang a right and go past the running track. Turn right before the ballfields, take the overpass over 1-9 and follow the road to the end of the parking lot. The dog run is next to the stand of trees behind the soccer field.

This is a county park not a city park.

Is that why it was built so fast? And looks so cool? ;D
Puppies, unicorns, and rainbows. . . .

Hey, did you see the Jersey Journal article about the shootings on Wayne Street?

[12:32 PM] TheFang: i was completely wrong.

You're a county park.

You forgot- dogs must be on leash at all times while in the dog run, in accordance with city law.  ::)

Good to hear. This dog run got dissed in the JJ's article about the dog run amendment. How big is this one? I think we may have to check it out.

The ribbon cutting will be at 3pm on Tuesday, October 16th. All are welcome.

The hours of the Dog Park will be dawn to dusk.

The rules are:
1. Use at your own risk
2. Owners must clean up their dog's waste both inside and outside the run. Bag dispensers and trash cans are provided.
3. Puppies and Dogs must be properly licensed, healthy, vaccinated and have no contagious conditions or diseases.
4. Dog owners must remain with their dogs in the run.
5. Limit three dogs per person per visit.
6. Absolutely no unattended children.
7. This is not a playground. The run is for use by dogs and their owners only.
8. For safety, remove all pinch, prong, choke and spike collars.
9. Close and secure gates before unleashing your dog.
10. No digging. Any holes created by your dog must be filled in with dirt.
11. No smoking or eating is allowed in the run.
12. Do not bring in rawhide, food or toys into the dog run as fights may result.

In case of emergency, call the Hudson County Sheriff at 201-915-1300 or call 911

and a big thanks to Charlene Burke for sending this information for me to post!
